This Weekend: Boston Local Food Festival

This Saturday, the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Boston is hosting the Boston Local Food Festival over in front of the Children’s Museum in Fort Point (ahem, Innovation District?) from 11am-5pm.  Looks like an awesome way to check out the best of what greater Boston has to offer with $5 food tastings, a farmer’s market, local music, food-inspired arts & crafts (bacon bandanas anyone?), and even a craft beer tasting event (featuring one of our favorite new area breweries, Jack’s Abby from Framingham).

Definitely gotta check this out and if anyone has great pictures after the weekend, send them to and we’ll be sure to post them!

Beets…in chocolate cake. Really?

Really really.

We’ve been super busy over here at MyReci after a great week of initial testing.  We received some fantastic feedback and are already making changes to the site based on what we’ve heard.  In another week or so, we’ll be releasing more invites for all you to join in on the fun.  Thanks for being patient as we make this thing the best it can be.

It might be a gloomy day here in Boston, but this amazing recipe video from creative studio Tiger in a Jar should do the trick to perk things up (Thanks to The Kitchn for the tip!).  With fall upon us, beet season is in full swing but we’ve never heard of using them in cake, with chocolate of all things!  Adding this to the to-cook list.  Until then, check out the video and some of our favorite beet recipes.
